Website Design
The process of designing a website can be very stressful and cumbersome. Here at Sapphire we enjoy bringing our clients into the process at all stages so you can watch your site as it develops, eliminating any big surprises at the end. Our process begins before our first meeting and requires a little homework from both parties.
We start by researching like sites in your perceived market. This helps us get a sense of where and whom your competition is and also may lend some design ideas. While we are doing our research we ask that you do a little surfing of your own and provide a few examples of sites with design elements or functionality that you may wish to see on your own site. Now that everyone has done their homework, it’s time for show and tell.
Our first meeting consists of our team and yours discussing our findings and picking out a more finite list of details and functionality that will become your site. After this initial meeting we will return to our offices and produce a first draft (comp) of your site within a few days. This step ensures that both teams are on the same page thus far. If not, we’ll get back to the drawing board and - within one to two days of aggressive work - resolve any miscommunications so the process can commence.
Once the "comping" phase is complete we will have another brief meeting about functionality. At this point in the process we feel comfortable enough with your vision to help suggest possible solutions. We can review any of our customizable "pre-built" applications or the building of any fully custom applications that may suit your needs. After this meeting it’s back to the warm glow of a computer screen. Depending on your level of solution needs, this part of the process can take from one week to several months. We are very upfront about our time lines and strive to never under-estimate.
After all application work is complete both teams will meet once more to hold a combined testing/training/QA (both quality assurance & question and answer) session and get you familiar with your new site. At this point we will address any issues, revisions or additional work required.
Once issues are solved, revision are made and additional work is completed we like to give you some time to enjoy your site all to yourself. In this time you can catch uncrossed "t's", get intimate with the flow of your site, become an expert at using your new custom applications and of course report anything we may have missed.
After final signoff and "launch" of your new site we are always available for follow up support, any web related questions and new requests you may have.
